Riverfire
Last night Mum, Pete, Ali and I sat on our deck watching the Brisbane Riverfire, drinking Rimfire wine (Hogs Head, 2002 vintage – very good!).
It was a lot of fun, especially the F1-11′s (the real ones, not couting all the times Mum said “here come the F1-11′s” and all it was was a QR train).
Pictionary followed, where Ali and I 0wned Mum & Pete after being almost three quarters of the board behind. Pete & I 0wn3d Ali and Mum too – but that was to be expected.

**new** 3D render
Well it’s been a while but I blew off the dust from 3dsmax and fired the old beast up again a few days ago.
Reason was to redesign my Tank model for an up coming (and long anticipated) game Tank Commander 3 (that is the production name – the real name will not be revealed until the game is officially released but rest assured it is much more original than it’s production name).
Check it out here
The bit I am most proud of – check the treads – and look at the shadow =). I am hoping to even have the transparency in the game too – maybe even animated if I can.

PS. Late night shopping in the city == Frozen Throne :D

After loosing my lvl 10, 25 Random / 25 Night Elf Wins “Bismark” Battle.net warIII account (with a flying welp) :~( I have created a new account “divzero”.
The first two 2v2 games I played I DC\’d – the action was so slow and jerky it left me cursing my modem. Right before I was about to hit it with a mallet I realised “hmm why are those lights blinking when I am not doing anything” well I don’t know what it was but I DC\’d and reconnected the modem – and tried again.
This time it came up roses. I won 2/2 Single player games (lets not forget I was a lvl1 at that stage) and am now a proud level 3 ;). I then tried my luck at a 2v2 team game and to my delight – it worked great.
Truth be told, once in the game (downling the patch was b.a.d.) I noticed absolutally no difference between a 33.6k running on dodo, and Telstra Bigpond Cable (500-1500k) that well the game is designed. Of course you can get disconnected more on Dial-up however the last time I got disconnected was when call waiting was on and havn\’t been since. I think it must be a combination of a) new lines, b) a half decent provider (iPrimus – yuk) and c) a slower modem. Infact the modem is so resilient that even if someone picks up the phone and tries to imitate a modem sound it won\’t disconnect (the 56.8 would however in a heartbeat). Since the modem is less highly strung – it doesn\’t snap as quickly…
So divzero is back on warIII. Add me to your friend list and we can play a game :) – currently not in a clan either.
/me plans to get Frozen Throne on the way home :D
divzer, over and out.
Can your router do this?
Last night I was continuing development on the latest Tank Software project and found out (in the afternoon) that I needed a newer version of the java sdk. This is a 30MB file for linux which is quite a pain in the arse if you are on dial up.
Remembering that I had left the internet connected, I found the IP address of Butch (by using omegadelta.net apache logs of all things), ssh’d in and wget’ed the file. by the time I had come home the file was downloaded and ready for use.
Just another use for a linux box router…
