In which OmegaDelta.net turns three, William gets cable (again) and Butchess nearly carks it.

As the subject line suggests, we now have a shiny new cable modem on Telstra’s cool new 10GB plan and am loving it. Butchess (the linux box) is now serving a very important role sharing the ‘net and is connected 24/7. Expect some more stuff our of her soon (servers and the likes). There was a bit of a scare when I powered her down so I could move her downstairs and she didn’t come back. Turns out the hot wheather must have triggered an inbuilt safe guard (by design or accident) and prevented her from powering up for a good thirty minutes.

The output of uptime, minutes before the tragic reboot was:
10:32pm up 192 days, 1:55, 5 users, load average: 0.14, 0.07, 0.01
which is a PB

Also – some more photos (including some long lost Easter ones are online in the usual place).

Melbourne in 3 days!

Cheers,

Will.
