Jetstar

Jetstar is basically like Virgin Blue when it started. Older aeroplanes, inferior seats and lesser terminals. Vigin managed to get most of Ansett’s terminals etc after they folded which has made it now much better (no walking on tarmack, etc).

Apart from the rather large “bump” on tuchdown which I shall put to a once off – I have one major complaint with Jetstar. That is they do not allocate seats on the plane when you check in. You just sit anywhere after boarding. Why is this bad? Well I can’t see how Jetstar saves money by not allocating seats, so I can’t justify why they do it, and it means that there is this “mad rush” to get onto the plain. People line up to try and check in and sit with each other. We were one of the last to board and were lucky to sit next to each other. Not very classy, that is for sure!

Also, their service wasn’t as good – the personal were a lot more “bored looking”. That said I dont’ always like the “too much energy” Virgin staff.

So when you travel Jetstar bear in mind that you may not be able to sit with your travelling companion. Personally, I’ll go Virgin Blue in the future for this fact alone, I just hate having to rush hussle at the boarding gate, something entirely foreign to me.
