In case you are wondering – Yes, the crucifix itself is mounted on a vertical mobile phone transmitter (note the triangle reinforcing on the roof).

    1. The title should be “Everything’s for sale”, denoting the abbreviation, not a plural. I have a similar complaint with McDonald’s and their cash register messages (which has nothing to do with this, but I needed to say it anyway)
    2. I didn’t really notice until you mentioned that it was a mobile phone tower. It is reasonably well disguised and seems to complement the crucifix.
    3. The church seems quite tall compared to its surroundings, making it an ideal location for a tower.
    4. With dwindling church attendance, they need to make extra money somehow.
    5. Wouldn’t God want a mobile phone tower on the top of his church? I’m pretty sure this is the argument the phone company made. It provides a means for God’s children to spread the good word.

    So with these reasons in mind I think the question shouldn’t be “why does this church have a mobile phone tower on it?”, but rather “why don’t all the other churches also have mobile phone towers?”

    3. Definitally! Plus unlike other buildings nobody is actually in the tower near the transmitters. It really is the ideal location from an engineering perspective.

    5. I can’t speak for God though I’m sure it does help the people broadcast His message to the world.

    As to your last comment, it is certainly a possability. In fact I have some insider information that STU Corp., Ltd. might be thinking about the viability of the business model (STU Corp., Ltd. is a very considerate corporate citizen and will of course be speaking with the community beforehand) – think of the growth potential!
