Snakes on a Plane
I laughed nearly the whole time – awesome stuff.
Rivals other favourites Resident Evil and The Scorpion King – but even more absurd. Highly recommended.

Another one bites the dust
My El Alamein server’s power supply died on the weekend from a surge caused by my heater (the heater clicked off causing it to freeze and its mental stability just never recovered). The comp is surge protected – but the heater was plugged directly into its power board :( I won’t be doing that again – but wish I had more than a single outlet in that room!
Fortunately after spending $50 for the part and 4min to install it, it’s now back up and running — ready for Sundays Big Game.
OmegaDelta.net converted to WordPress
I have replaced my homegrown blogging software (created in December 2002) with a custom theme of WordPress. All previous data (202 posts and 413 comments) was converted over using an automated script that I developed. Attachments had to be manually moved, but fortunately there was only a handful.
I was getting sick of maintaining the old codebase, hence the move. Now hopefully the only time spent maintaining will be the occasional upgrade. I must say the authoring tools in WordPress are a little better than my <textarea> setup in reX!
Regulars will notice that the WordPress theme is a near-identical copy of the old theme, with the comic removed and a different method used to access archived posts. The old site can still be viewed, but not for long.
I’ll try to actually post a bit more now too :)
John Knoll wins again
It was going to be the year that John Knoll lost an i-think award and his dignity to the Special Effects Supervisor of Brokeback Mountain.
In a very suspicious outcome however, he scraped in with a margin of only a single vote.
