Risks of using the internet

I was on the ATO’s lost super web site today (looking for super — apparently it’s been replaced with LRP?), and found this paragraph particularly interesting:

Risks of using the internet

You should note there are inherent risks associated with transmission of information via the internet. You should make your own assessment of the potential risks to the security of your information when making a decision as to whether or not you should utilise this website. There are alternative ways to transact business if you do not wish to use public networks such as the internet – For example, contact the Superannuation Infoline on 13 10 20 or email supermail@ato.gov.au

I definitally don’t want to use public networks such as the internet (https is too insecure for me). Hmm, I know! I’ll use email instead!
